Small Home Bar

There are many benefits to having your own small home bar, but one of the biggest is that it gives you an area in your home where you can be alone with friends and family. It’s a place to gather and socialize, to discuss politics or current events, to tell stories and share information, to remember lost loved ones, and of course, it’s also great to use as a party space when you have guests over. Whether you’re starting from scratch or adding onto your current home bar, there are several things you should know about designing the perfect small home bar design for your space and situation.

Planning your bar

A home bar is a great way to entertain guests, but before you start shopping for bar stools and liquor cabinets, you need to plan the layout and design of your new bar. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. Decide where in your home the bar will go.
  2. Make sure you have enough space for all the essentials: bar stools, shelves, fridge, etc.
  3. Choose a style that fits your home décor.
  4. Consider adding unique features like a keg tap or wine fridge.
  5. Don’t forget about storage! You’ll need somewhere to keep all your glassware, liquor, and mixers.

Picking the right location

The first step to designing a small home bar is picking the right location. You want to choose a spot that’s out of the way but still easily accessible. A corner of the kitchen or living room is usually a good choice. You also want to make sure there’s enough space to move around and that you have enough outlets for all your bar essentials. Think about what you’ll be using the most when deciding where to put it. Is it wine? Then put it near a refrigerator or pantry where you store them. Liquor? Near the glasses cabinet if possible, so people can help themselves when they need more.

Choosing furniture

The first step is to choose the right furniture for your bar. You’ll want to find pieces that are both functional and stylish. Think about what kind of atmosphere you want to create. Do you want a modern look or a more traditional feel? Once you’ve decided on the style, it’s time to start shopping around. There are many places to find great deals on bar furniture, so take your time and shop around until you find the perfect pieces for your space. If you’re going for a traditional feel, then you might consider buying an antique hutch. For something more contemporary, there are some great options at stores like Crate & Barrel or West Elm. No matter which direction you go in, remember to make sure the piece fits in with your design scheme. Keep in mind things like color and materials (oak vs stainless steel).

Accessorizing your bar

Once you have your bar stocked with all the necessary supplies, it’s time to start accessorizing! Here are a few ideas to get you started -Set up one side of the bar as a resting place for wine glasses and another side for liquor. Place straws on a tray nearby or in an ice bucket. Add an ashtray for smokers if applicable.

-Add lighting over the entire length of the bar so that guests can see what they’re drinking. If you prefer dimmer light, just add lamps along one side of the bar instead.

-Cover up any unsightly stains on your countertop by adding coasters or platters to set drinks on while they cool off. Disposable placemats work great too if you don’t want to clean up spills later. -Plant a succulent in your own container near the bar and use it as decor. Use other plants such as ivy or vines near open windows to let nature into your home.

-Decorate with party favors: When entertaining, use old-fashioned martini glasses for colorful garnishes like lemon slices or cherry blossoms to give guests something fun to snack on while sipping their drink.

Adding lighting

Good lighting is important in any home bar design, but it becomes even more crucial in a small space. Not only does proper lighting set the mood, but it can also make the room appear larger. Here are some tips for adding lighting to your small home bar:

  1. Use accent lighting to highlight specific areas or features. This will help create a focal point and make the space feel more intentional.
  2. Add sconces or pendant lights on either side of the mirror to help brighten up the space.
  3. Consider using LED bulbs, which emit less heat and can help save on energy costs.
  4. Use light-colored paint or wallpaper to reflect light and make the space feel brighter. You may want to use these reflective surfaces strategically around your bar area so you have enough natural light during different times of day. The last thing you want is for the space to be dark!
  5. Try adding mirrors throughout the room if you have enough wall space; this will create an illusion that makes the area seem larger than it actually is. Mirrors provide an additional surface for artwork, too!

Adding color to your small home bar design

A small home bar is a perfect way to add an extra flair to your home’s décor. You can use color to create an inviting and warm atmosphere in your bar area. Consider adding a pop of color with bar stools, paintings, or even glassware. If you want a more subtle approach, try using different shades of the same color to create a cohesive look. For example, if you want blue-green as your main color theme, think about incorporating blue-green accessories like glasses or napkins throughout the space. Blue-green will make any room feel bright and welcoming.
