Has standing in your tiny bathroom made you question how to improve the space without knocking down walls? If yes, you aren’t alone. The good news is that the right marble wallpaper can drastically change the feel of a small space. It allows you to incorporate a personal touch without needing a major renovation, no matter if you rent or own the place.

Here are some unique wallpaper ideas that compliment small bathrooms, making them look larger and a lot more stylish.

1. Go Light and Luxe with Marble Wallpaper

I decided to remodel my powder room, which only held a toilet and a sink, and wanted to make it feel open, my go to was a white marble wallpaper with soft grey veins running through it. It felt great to finally have a space that felt like it was an elevated mini spa.

Not only does light champagne colored marble wallpaper pattern help bounce light around the room, making it feel larger, but it also pairs nicely with brushed gold fixtures or matte black hardware for more modern designs.

I can do it in:

Restrooms end-suites that are luxurious but require a modern touch

Bathrooms for guests which require increment in their luxury additions, however, without making them too extravagant.

2. Vertical Patterns, Opened Ceilings

A good friend of mine used a small pinstripe wallpaper in the minimalistic bathroom of hers, and boy was it impressive. When people look at her bathroom, the combination of the vertical lines and the eye movement results in the illusion that the ceiling is much taller than it realistically is. Every compact area can benefit from this ingenious method.

This is what I recommend: Soft pastel shades like pale blue, warm grey, or even blush pink would do well in maintaining a light atmosphere.

3. Botanically Breathable Bathroom Wallpaper

Having less square footage should not limit your creativity. Try using leafy designs, minimalistic floral prints, or even water color style botanical artwork. For one of my clients, I placed gentle fern print wall paper in their guest bathroom, and the results were beyond expectations. The whole bathroom wallpaper transformed to a fresher and more calm environment.

Just do not let the scale get out of hand, the center pieces are supposed to add a 3D depth to the room, not take the focus and drown the entire room in prints.

4. Use It and Lose It (Especially for Renters)

For renters, this will surely interest you: peel and stick wallpaper is great for small bathrooms and kitchens. It is incredibly simple to put on and take off, plus it has endless stylistic patterns. I assisted a friend in putting up a removable terrazzo style wallpaper around her sink and it gave her kitchen a more sophisticated touch.

Bonus: It also works perfectly as a kitchen wallpaper for splash backs or pantry walls.

5. Reflective Finishes that Sprinkle Shimmer in the Air

For those whose bathrooms don’t receive much natural sunlight, try using wallpaper with a subtle metallic or satin finish. It contributes glam without being too over the top. Think silver accents constructed in a geometric wallpaper shape, or wallpaper that has a hint of pearl in it.

In Conclusion…

Making a statement doesn’t require a grand space, it can also be done using a small one. The bathroom, regardless of size, can look stunning and firm from any angle if you use either light marble style wallpaper, gentle botanicals or even renter-friendly peel-and-stick ones.

If you’re feeling bold, why not extend your wallpaper idea to the kitchen too. Having bathrooms and kitchens with the same wallpaper style creates a better overall look to your home, especially if you have limited space.
